Mountain hikes
An afternoon walk, a longer day trek, peak-bagging from summit to summit, or a valley crossing. The possibilities are many—summer and winter alike.

If you're not afraid of heights and have a steady step, a walk up Straumshornet is surprisingly modest. It's a fairly short route with splendid views across fjord and mountain. Dravlausegga, which rises just behind, is another airy climb—longer and wonderfully rewarding.
With loose heel bindings, the ski touring possibilities are nearly endless. Auskjeret and Langfjella on Fjellsetra are well-trodden favourites. You'll find cross-country trails around Nysætervatnet on Fjellsetra, Sessvatnet near Ikornnes, or Vassætra climbing the moorland from Fauske or along the gravel road up from Hjellane.
