Fjord experiences
Whether you prefer the water or the shore, Sykkylven offers plenty of ways to enjoy the fjord. Beach time, paddling trips, or boating from the harbour.

Sykkylvsfjorden is part of the grand Storfjorden, which stretches from Ålesund all the way to Tafjord and Geiranger. Hjørundfjorden, with its entrance between Sykkylven and Ørsta, is another arm of this same waterway.
Summer on the fjord is bracing whether you're above or below the waterline. After a swim on a crisp day, warm yourself at Fjølg Sauna in Sykkylven Småbåthamn. Haugneset is the public beach near the town centre, just below Sjøbakken Fjordcamping. If you prefer warmer water, Ikornnes Friluftsbad is worth a visit.
In your own boat—whether by oar, sail, or motor—you can combine waterborne days with mountain walks and other adventures in our two guest harbours. But remember: the fjord's currents and winds funnelling down from the high mountains demand respect and attention.
